Located along NE Corner Blue Diamond and Durango on approximately eight Acres of land, this project included: Topographical Survey, Boundary Survey, Pedestrian and utility Easements, Right-of-Way Dedication & Patent Easement Vacation, Hydrology Study, and Civil Improvement Plans, street improvements on Durango as well as, coordination with NDOT and other stakeholders for the widening of Blue Diamond Road.
The road design aspect of this project required that NBD design off-site improvements including cub gutter, sidewalk and utilities for the length of the site (500 linear feet) along Durango Road. NBD also designed street pavement sections that not only conformed to County standards but matched existing pavement along Durango and on Blue Diamond Road (a NDOT right-of-way), where the installation of a box culvert intruded upon the right-of-way. NBD also coordinated with the developer of Mountains Edge on improvements to Blue Diamond Road.
One of the challenging aspects of this project involved the reduction of storm water surface flow from project site onto Blue Diamond Road. To accommodate the criteria that was established by NDOT; NBD designed a 110’ x 50’ underground vault (detention facility), that captures the storm flow and through the use of an adjustable rate opening then discharges the water into the storm channel at a regulated rate.
